This sumptuous Louis XVI period officer's commode, crafted in flamed mahogany, rests on toupie feet terminating in gilt bronze sabots. The commode is topped with a white marble slab with gray veining, encircled by an openwork gilt brass gallery. It features three drawers in the front. The front uprights are rounded with fluting inlaid in gilt brass. The gallery is rounded at the front. The rear uprights are also fluted and inlaid in gilt brass. The commode boasts beautiful and rich gilt bronze and brass ornamentation, including sabots, drawer pulls, rings, keyhole escutcheons, drawer and panel frames, and the gallery. The flamed mahogany wood is of fine quality and has a beautiful patina. Cloverleaf locks, a mark of quality. It does not have its key.
