Empire Bouillotte Lamp, Chiseled And Gilded Bronze.
The base is openwork, and the funnel-shaped stem is chased with lotus leaves; it rests on three animal claws and terminates in a tassel that supports the square steel rod holding the lampshade. Three light arms adorned with acanthus leaves feature flame-shaped candle holders. The painted sheet metal lampshade is height-adjustable, and its locking screw simulates an arrow's fletching; it is decorated, on an antique green background, with Greek key patterns and laurel leaves, a symbol of victory. The upper handle is a figure of Fame with a basket of flowers. Mid-19th century.
