A beautiful and large 18-carat gold brooch, adorned with a substantial cameo on agate, in four layers, depicting a young girl's bust in profile, with a garland of vine leaves in her hair. The scalloped gold setting is adorned with fine half-pearls. Mid-19th century. Weight: 42.63 grams. Height: 56mm x 45mm. Cameo: 47mm x 37mm. Superb glyptic work of great finesse, sculpted on four layers of agate.
