Louis XVI Style Walnut Chest Of Drawers
A Louis XVI style mahogany commode from the early 19th century, the front features five drawers in three rows with drop handles on the lower drawers. The three drawers in the upper row open with their original clover-shaped keys, and the commode operates on all three locks. The top is a Turquin marble slab with a molded edge, rounded front corners, and projecting edges at the back. The two-paneled sides are decorated with brass moldings. The rounded front uprights are fluted with brass bands, and the upper section is adorned with scrapers. The projecting rear uprights are also fluted and decorated with brass bands. This commode rests on four toupie feet with rings and sabots. A beautifully crafted commode in very good original condition, fully refinished.
