"Kilim Konya - Anatolia. Circa 1970. 188 X 130 Cm"
This Anatolian kilim from Konya is truly beautiful. The weave is very fine and demonstrates exceptional skill. It is composed exclusively of plant-based dyes, both luminous and soft. One will appreciate, and even be moved by, the numerous abrash patterns across the entire surface. Abrash, technically speaking, are the variations in tone around a single color. Such a technique can only be achieved with natural, plant-based dyes. The central field features the Tree of Life motif. The architectural composition and choice of motifs are characteristic of this region of central Anatolia, and of the emblematic city of Konya. Woven wool on wool. Circa 1970. Perfect condition. Dimensions: 188 x 130 cm. Laurent Beauty of Kilims
