A finely crafted antique Cambodian (Khmer) silver ritual offering pedestal bowl, dating to the 19th century.
The piece is shaped as a lobed lotus bud — an important symbol in Khmer Buddhist art — raised on a tall pedestal and richly decorated with hand-chased and repoussé floral panels in the classical Khmer style.
The lid is formed of radiating lotus petals around a central knop. The body is divided into vertical floral bands densely filled with foliate motifs derived from traditional Khmer kbach ornament. The pedestal base is entirely decorated with scrolling lotus motifs, emphasising its use in a ceremonial Buddhist context.
The internal construction with a central rod is typical of Cambodian silversmithing techniques of the period. Such vessels were used in temples and ceremonial settings for presenting offerings, sacred items, or ritual substances in Khmer Buddhist practice.
Height 17.3 cm. Diameter 16.5 cm. Weight approx. 575 g.
