Exquisite 19th-century solid silver carving set. This set includes a fork and a knife. The knife has a steel blade and a silver-plated handle. It bears the French Minerva hallmark (2nd standard) and the silversmith's mark. The fork has a solid silver upper section (French Minerva hallmark (1st standard)) and a silver-plated handle (French Minerva hallmark (2nd standard)). A very fine piece of mid-19th-century work, with the handles engraved with the initials BC within a coat of arms. Fork length: 27.7 cm. Knife length: 32.5 cm. Weight: 273 grams gross (approximate).
