"Portrait Of A King"
Oil on panel depicting a bust of a king holding a scepter. The painting has numerous losses, primarily in the background, and three-dimensional pastiglia motifs are used to represent the scepter, collar, crown, halo, and Gothic-style architectural setting. I have been unable to determine the painting's date, which could be from the 19th century or much earlier, nor its exact technique, which could also be tempera. The panel is framed in a 19th-century walnut frame and measures 28.7 x 21 cm without the frame.
