Victorian locket ball pendant in 18 karat gold. A rare folding pendant that takes the form of a sphere, decorated on either side with bands that hold it closed. This is a photo locket pendant: the two bands unclip to reveal a series of four frames. Photographs can be placed inside. The pendant then folds accordion-style to return to its spherical shape. The bands wrap around the sides to secure the pendant. 19th-century locket pendant, circa 1880-1900.
