Louis XVI Style Desk
A beautiful mahogany marquetry desk with stringing and gilt bronze mounts. Double-sided decoration, leather-topped with gilt edges. Five drawers in the front, tapered legs with sabots. Uprights decorated with leather and laurel wreaths, drawers adorned with scrolling foliage, fleurons, and pearls. Oak frame, French polished. Made in the Faubourg Saint-Antoine, circa 1880.
