Solid Silver Mustard Pot From The Empire-consulate Period, Rooster Hallmark
Antique solid silver tripod mustard pot, late 18th century. It retains its original crystal insert. It bears several hallmarks, including: - Greek woman's head (unofficial "revolutionary" hallmark, used by the Goldsmiths' Association from 1795 to 1797). - first rooster (hallmark for 950/1000 silver from 1798 to 1809). - old man's head + 85 (guarantee hallmark for Paris). - silversmith's mark (illegible). - boar's head (guarantee hallmark for Paris from 1838 to 1984). In very good condition. The insert is scratched and slightly cloudy. 10.5 cm high / 10 cm long / 6.5 cm in diameter. Total weight: 210 grams / silver weight: 90 grams.
