Oil on canvas, 1865, after the altarpiece in St. Andrew's Church, Düsseldorf, by Ernst Deger (1809-1885). This 1837 altarpiece was very successful, partly because Christ is depicted as a child rather than an infant. He looks directly at us, and the position of his arms foreshadows his future. It was produced in various sizes. The original frame follows the shape of the altarpiece. Finely restored and cleaned. Shipping arrangements to be discussed.
