16th Century Italian Renaissance Walnut Table - Florence
Exceptional 16th-century Italian Renaissance walnut table, known as a "tavolo ad asso di coppe" (meaning "table with an ace"). This unique table features a superb base with a central ace decorated with foliage. The base is carved at both the top and bottom, reminiscent of lace or scales (our first in 50 years).
The base is connected by a wooden stretcher with a coat of arms in its center.
The table is topped with aa magnificent 89cm wide and thick tabletop, also featuring carved lacework.
The table has a beautiful patina and is in excellent condition.
