Crystal Ball With Gilt Bronze Mount, 19th Century
Esoteric Crystal ball adorned in its center with a rotating enameled frieze depicting the 12 signs of the zodiac. Set in a richly decorated, finely chiseled and gilded bronze mount in the Rococo style, representing the sphere emerging from the waves. The whole is surmounted by a serpent entwined with a crystal rosebud. The gilded bronze has been professionally cleaned (the last photo shows the object before cleaning).
