Le Veil Vour, oil on canvas, 32 x 40 cm.
This painting depicts the end of the estuary of the port of Guilvinec-Léchiagat, blocked by the road and formerly by the "Veil Vour" (the tidal mill).
The hilly landscape shows that the stream was once confined within a narrow channel as far as the inner harbor.
The steep, rocky banks were exploited as granite quarries for the construction of buildings in the two towns.
Ceria painted several boat carcasses and sloops.
This place has since become a boat graveyard where sloops, pinasses, and malamoks have disintegrated in the mud and sand.
Work listed in the book "Homage to Ceria."
