Artist: Victor Louis Cuguen ( 1882 - 1969 )
The son of railway workers, he painted his native region, from Pontorson and Mont Saint-Michel to Normandy and Brittany. He also painted Paris, Annecy, and the South of France. A drawing teacher at the Toulon high school, he exhibited at the Salon des Indépendants from 1923 and at the Salon des Artistes Normands and Salon des Artistes Français from 1925, as well as in various galleries in Paris and the provinces. He became known for his exclusive use of the palette knife. His works are held at the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Saint-Lô. Panel dimensions: 19 x 24 cm and 29 x 34 cm (frame included).
