A very beautiful ceiling painting depicting a mythological scene typical of Baroque or Rococo art from the 17th or early 18th century. The driver of the gilded chariot drawn by white horses represents Apollo, the personification of the sun, while Jupiter above brandishes a thunderbolt, a symbol of his celestial power. This scene often illustrates divine majesty and the power of light, themes dear to the French monarchy, particularly Louis XIV, the Sun King. Trompe-l'œil ornaments, a gilded frame, garlands, and medallions are typical of painted ceiling decorations from the 17th and 18th centuries.
