Valentina Donati was a self-taught Italian Naïve painter active in the second half of the 20th century. She belongs to the Italian tradition of poetic naive art, alongside artists such as Paolo Donati and Filiberto Mazzarella. Her paintings are characterized by idyllic gardens, pastoral scenes, and timeless moments, imbued with a decorative sensibility that evokes happy memories and simple joy. Her works circulated in regional Italian salons and then in French galleries specializing in naive art in the 1960s and 70s, where they found a dedicated audience of collectors. Here, the harp at the center of the composition acts as a symbol of harmony: everything converges toward a feeling of peace, beauty, and lightness.
