Writing Set, First Empire Period
A green morocco leather writing set with gilt tooling, silver-plated metal hinges and keyhole escutcheons, pink paper interior, and a crystal inkwell. Superb condition, no restoration. The set bears the label of Garnesson at the Palais Royal for Nicolas Jacques Garnesson, supplier of writing sets and collaborator with Imperial suppliers. His son succeeded him in 1824 and was a regular supplier to the Duke of Orleans and later to King Louis Philippe.
