"Pastel, Elegant Young Lady With Harp, Circa 1780, Louis XVI Period."
A delightful 18th-century pastel portrait, circa 1780, of an elegant young lady playing the harp; the musician is seated on an upholstered chair, the floral top of which is visible, a Louis XVI style seat. The young woman is charmingly dressed in a light brocaded silk gown; the jacket she wears, which also covers her shoulders, is made of a luminous blue silk, creating a striking contrast, as do the fine fur trims. A long, rich lace cascades from her headdress, adorned with a dark, flared pin.
The portrait is in very good condition, under its original glass and frame.
