19th Century Morocco Leather Letter Box
Black morocco leather letter box with gilt tooling on the lid. The box opens with a flap to which a leather flap pouch is attached inside. It has gussets that increase its storage capacity. In the center, two initials CL are surmounted by a count's coronet. The lock is present, but the keyhole and key are missing (close-up photo). Period: circa 1830.
