Mid-19th Century Painting "aurora"
Beautiful oil painting on canvas, housed in a carved and gilded wooden frame. The painting depicts Apollo in a chariot with horses, surrounded by maidens representing the hours, while on the right is Aurora, who flies and brings light to the nocturnal landscape. The chariot is surmounted by the putto Phosphorus, the bringer of light. This is a tasteful and elegant painting, inspired by Guido Reni's "Triumph of Apollo Led by Aurora," a Baroque fresco housed in the Casino-Palazzo Pallavicini Rospigliosi. Italian work from the mid-19th century.
