Old Fertility Stone, Tribal Art, Oceanic Art, Melanesian Art, Engraved Stone, 32 Cm
A fertility stone believed to ensure the survival of the clan of origin. The stone was also thought to protect the warrior who rubbed their spear blade on it before battle. Two figures are engraved throughout, representing the primordial couple (one male face and one female face). This unique piece was collected in the Blackwater area in Papua New Guinea. It will be displayed and sold with a presentation base. Approx. 32 x 15 x 11 cm / €1600 including base and free shipping within Europe.
