"Travel Writing Desk, Large Napoleon III Marquetry Box On All Sides"
An important Napoleon III period travel writing case, inlaid on all sides with various precious woods. It opens with a drop-front revealing a large writing surface and two small, separate drawers. It closes with an openwork key. It is carried by two lateral bronze pendant handles and rests on four gilt bronze feet in the form of acanthus leaves. Bronze ornamentation adorns the top of the case.
