Elegant Louis-Philippe mirror in gilt gesso with gold leaf, dating from the mid-19th century.The rectangular frame with rounded corners features a refined engraved and tooled decoration of stylised vine leaves and grape motifs, delicately enhancing the warm gilding.
The central crest, entirely modelled in gesso, is adorned with scrolls and acanthus leaves surrounding a central shell motif, characteristic of the Louis-Philippe style.Original gilding with beautiful, even patina and light wear consistent with age.
The mirror plate appears original, with slightly oxidised silvering giving a soft, atmospheric reflection.
