Pair Of Gothic Oak Wood Paneling Panels - Early Period
Pair of carved solid oak wood paneling, attributed to the High Gothic period (15th century). These decorative elements display a structured Gothic ornamental repertoire. Each panel is composed of two sections of ornamentation. The upper register features stylized foliage motifs and interlaced S-shaped elements framing a central rosette. The lower register displays a series of lancet arches with openwork tracery, reminiscent of the religious architecture of the period. These antique oak wood elements were intended for furniture or wainscoting. The original oak patina highlights the sculpted reliefs. Height: 44 cm, Width: 21 cm. The panels have been cleaned and waxed with natural carnauba wax, providing a meticulous finish that respects the oak's patina.
