Allegory Of Time, Royal Copenhagen Manufactory
The sculpture depicts a grieving female figure beside a funerary urn, accompanied by a small Cupid with an hourglass. It is an allegory of Time and Sorrow, a classic theme in late 18th and 19th-century Danish Neoclassical porcelain. The hallmark style (blue waves and painted lettering) and the quality of the gilt decoration indicate a period around 1870–1920. The oval incised mark with numbers is typical of Royal Copenhagen molded pieces. Height 18 cm. Base 11 x 9 cm.
