Stamped Pihouée under the table.
The Pihouée company was founded in the early 1860s by Alexandre Pihouée. Following the eclectic style of the time, the company specialized in manufacturing seating in all styles. In 1872, the arrival of his son, Victor-David Pihouée, allowed the business to expand and offer not only seating but also furniture from all periods. In 1906, the Pihouée company closed its doors, and its assets were dispersed at auction.
