The Basket of Oranges, Watercolor, Signed lower left, 73 x 53 cm, Carved and gilded frame. Born in Rome in 1847, Clelia was the daughter and pupil of the renowned watercolorist and sculptor Roberto Bompiani, who taught at the San Luca Academy. She became known for her portraits of Roman women, children, and scenes of daily life in Rome and the surrounding villages. The sculpture she learned from her father is very present in her paintings.
