Curved cylindrical pot with white slip.
Large decoration of a cartouche of foliage entwined with two stylized flowers.
In dark cobalt blue and manganese.

Phylactery: "P.ALUNINA".

Pharmacopoeia:
The inscription "P. ALUNINA" for Pulvis Alunina or Alum Powder is a mineral pharmaceutical preparation,
composed of powdered alum, sometimes mixed with other salts or vegetable powders depending on the intended use.
Ancient medical uses:
Astringent: tightens tissues and reduces secretions.
Hemostatic: stops minor bleeding (nosebleeds, small cuts).
Antiseptic: disinfects wounds or ulcers.
Cosmetic: powder to soothe irritation after shaving or perspiration.
