A very fine cast iron piece depicting a neighing horse's head, with pricked ears, a full mane, and flared nostrils. Around its neck, it wears a ribbon bow decorated with oak leaves. The horse's features are very fine and precise. Three bolts on the back allow for vertical mounting; a mounting bracket is also present. This piece was likely originally a butcher's shop sign or a stud farm entrance decoration. It dates from the second half of the 19th century. The casting is of very high quality, comparable to the productions of the Alsatian art foundry De Dietrich. Dimensions: H 60 x W 30 x D 41 cm
