Beautiful and original, this Art Nouveau vase in pressed and molded glass, smoky in color with a satin finish, a flared neck, and a relief decoration of fish and seaweed, belongs to the Carpe Koi collection attributed to Josef Inwald (1837-1906).
In perfect condition, without chips or cracks.
Weight 1450 grams.
In 1862, Josef Inwald established his first glassworks in Central Bohemia, near Prague, and settled 14 working families there. These beginnings gave rise to the Josef Inwald glass factories and refineries, which would become one of the most important glass manufacturers in Central Europe over the next 30 years. By 1898, the company led by Josef Inwald employed approximately 1200 people at various locations and exported glassware worldwide. He thus revived the reputation of the glass industry, which was then in sharp decline.
