2 Gilded And Polychrome Wooden Pilaster Capitals From The Baroque Period
Forming a pendant, suitable as a console, Spanish work from the 17th century, beneath scrolls of acanthus leaves: cherub faces. The head, turned to the left, is split at the forehead, with a missing piece at the end of the leaf. There are various chips to the wood and losses to the polychromy, as well as traces of wood-boring insect damage. An electrical system has been installed and is easily removable.
