Small Mahogany Chest Of Drawers From The "return From Egypt" Period, Circa 1800
Small Empire period mahogany commode. Rare small commode in mahogany and mahogany veneer, opening with three drawers in the front, one of which is in the frieze. On either side of the drawers, the pilaster uprights are adorned with finely chased gilt bronze busts of Athenian women and rest on lion's paw feet. It is topped with a Belgian granite-effect black anthracite marble slab. Very beautiful gilt and chased bronze ornamentation. Trefoil key. Very good condition. High-quality Parisian piece mounted on oak. Circa 1800
