Louis XVI Style Marquetry Secretary
We present this sumptuous Louis XVI style secretary desk with canted corners, veneered and inlaid with doors. A late piece from the Faubourg Saint-Antoine in Paris, dating from the 20th century. The drop-front features a medallion depicting a musician playing the recorder to his dog, softened by floral motifs. The doors are also inlaid with flowers, and the sides are divided into two panels: one with musical instruments and the other with a ewer filled with flowers. The woods used are primarily rosewood and palisander. The interior reveals five drawers: one at the top that appears to have three, and four below, along with a beautiful marble top. The photos speak for themselves. The entire piece is mounted on oak with bronze ornamentation. Shipping extra (€25).
