Sculpture Of The Head Of Laocoön
Sculpture of Laocoön's face in marble dust. During the Trojan War, Laocoön, priest and preacher of Poseidon, was one of the few to distrust the horse offered by the Greeks and to warn the Trojans against this dubious gift. Two serpents from the island of Thenedos killed him, and this was interpreted by the Trojans as punishment from Poseidon and Athena for having offended the offering made by the Greeks to the people of Troy.
