"Drunkenness Scene Attributed To Jean Pezous (1815-1885)"
Oil on canvas mounted on cardboard, depicting a caricature scene about drunkenness. The woman helping her husband dressed as a Punch and Judy and another woman trying to push back a mocking mime with a broom. Good quality, the painting is not signed but there is an engraving by Jean Pezous, depicting the same scene, only the presence of an additional child on the engraved work distinguishes the two scenes. Good general condition, some wear and disparity of the varnish. 19th century frame cut. Dimensions without frame: 54 / 36 cm
