"Neoclassical Cobalt Blue Porcelain Vase With Gilt Bronze Mounts, Circa 1880"
Monumental Neoclassical-style vase in cobalt blue glazed porcelain, adorned with rich, finely chiseled gilt bronze mounts, France, circa 1880. The amphora-shaped body is decorated with Bacchus mascarons, acanthus scrolls and floral garlands, typical of the Belle Époque taste for revisited Antiquity. The intensity of the deep blue contrasts magnificently with the gilding of the bronze, giving the whole a sumptuous and refined appearance. Dimensions: H 65 cm × 36 cm
