Large format on canvas depicting a return from hunting through the day's game caught in an undergrowth: deer, partridge and other birds. Oil treated in the 18th century manner, of excellent technical quality since it is the work of Jules Coignet (1798-1860), a recognized master of the 19th century. Jules Coignet is indeed close to the Barbizon school and his works are present in French collections, notably at the Louvre Museum. Good condition, the work is relined. Dimensions: 131 cm high x 97 cm wide.
