Elegant Pair of Tubular Candlesticks with faceted sides enriched with champlevé and cloisonné enamels with polychrome decoration on reserves with an ivory, midnight blue or garnet background of acanthus foliage, florets and geometric motifs in bright tones set in gold. Ringed in their upper part and on their base with a finely chiseled gilt bronze frieze of chevrons, each candlestick stands on a quadragular base in blond Algerian Onyx marble. Quality Parisian work to be associated with the creations of Maisons Barbèdienne. Circa 1880 BRILLIANT ENAMELS With a slender silhouette, each candlestick is covered on its tubular shaft with faceted sides with a precious mesh of polychrome champlevé cloisonné enamels. Standing out against oblong reserves harmoniously surrounded by an ivory or midnight blue background, volutes, scrolls, acanthus foliage punctuated by palmettes, fleurons, and small geometric motifs evoking cabochons unfold, stretch, and intertwine their foliage, adorning it with the vivid brilliance of their azure, emerald-green, and garnet tones set in gold. Enclosed in oval reserves with a garnet background, quadrilobed fleurettes embellish bands framing this gleaming ornamental composition with a beautiful visual effect. Finely chiseled with chevrons, gilt bronze friezes adorn the top part, the soberly ringed base of the torch erected on a marbled quadrangular base in blond Algerian onyx. With an elegant ornamental plasticity, this very becoming Pair of Torches seduces by the formal sobriety of their silhouette united with the preciousness of their enameled decoration of a brilliant polychromy. Carefully crafted, these very decorative Torches are fully in line with the ornamental objects - cups, inkwells, watch holders, clocks or desk accessories, ... - happily combining the same materials (gilded bronze, champlevé and cloisonné enamel, Algerian onyx) created and distributed from the 1860s-1870s by Ferdinand Barbedienne (1810-1892), Susse Frères or the Parisian House Alphonse Giroux. Able to form End Tables, it will enamel with its gleaming touch all convivial rejoicings. .Materials: blond marble in Algerian onyx; chiseled and gilded bronze; Polychrome cloisonné champlevé enamel. Dimensions: H.: 24 cm; - Base: 9 cm x 9 cm. Quality Parisian work from the last third of the 19th century in the wake of the creations of Maison Barbedienne, Susse Frères or Alphonse Giroux. Circa 1880 In Perfect Condition.
