Oil on hardboard fixed on a wooden frame. Henri Autran is a painter from Provence, born in Marseille and having lived a good part of his life in the village of Tourtour which is located in the Var department.
The green landscapes, the churches as well as the houses of the village were the favorite subjects of his paintings. His pictorial style with simplified forms and the colors of Provence are clearly recognizable.
