Midnight blue glazed ceramic with a sculptural shape, signed and numbered 5 on the reverse.
Max Idlas was born in Marseille in 1932, self-taught, he opened his first pottery workshop in Montmartre, Paris, in 1954. In 1964, he moved to Brittany and set up his ceramics and painting workshop in a former charcoal factory.
