Auguste Isidore Ledru (1837-1918) was a French sculptor born in Reims, son of Pierre Jacques Ledru and Marie Madeleine Galetson. By marriage to Elisa Closier, he had at least five children: the eldest, Auguste (1860-1902), was an ornamental sculptor and friend of Rodin; Pierre (1862), Léon (1866), Charles (1868), who did not survive, and Alice Augus-tine Ledru (1870).
Alice Augustine Ledru was the wife of René Lalique, a genius artist who left his mark on Art Nouveau with her jewelry and Art Deco with her glass creations. With them, she had a daughter, Suzanne Lalique.
