"Meissen Porcelain Monkey Orchestra"
Magnificent and very rare orchestra of 19 monkeys in Meissen porcelain (Affenkappelle) , a German work around 1900. The set includes : 1 conductor and 18 statuettes of musician monkeys (19 pieces in total !) on the terraces highlighted with rocaille ornaments in relief enhanced with polychrome gold decoration marked, crossed swords in blue.
Model after Johan Joachim Kaendler.
Height of the statuettes = 13 cm and 17 cm for the conductor.
The set is in good condition , a few very small chips.
