Eugène Boudin - Watercolor - Woman In Brittany - 1870
Lovely watercolor by Eugène BOUDIN circa 1870 depicting a Breton woman spinner in a rustic interior.
There are several watercolors by BOUDIN illustrating scenes of daily life in Brittany, using the wash technique and the same color range, such as "Intérieur breton, maternité" sold for 8100 euros by Christie's on 14-04-21 (lot 10) or "Breton woman holding a bowl in an interior" in the collections of the Musée d'Orsay (inventory reference RF 16939).
*** A major exhibition "Eugene BOUDIN" took place at the Marmottan Monet museum in Paris in 2025, which presented a watercolor of the same style as ours, same technique, also depicting a scene of daily life in Brittany (see last photo).
An excellent opportunity to acquire one of the greatest masters of the 19th century !

On the back of the frame, on the back cardboard, an annotation mentioning a work offered by Maurice de CROZALS to a former owner
Very good general condition, note some foxing and several small pinholes
