Planetary Attributed To Delamarche In Excellent Condition, Circa 1830
A so-called "Copernican" orrery attributed to Delamarche around 1820-30 with an integrated tellurium, it rests on a turned and blackened wooden base. The whole adorned with a band on which the zodiacal signs and the months are reproduced. H: 53 cm The planets of the solar system are represented as they were known at the time of our orrery. Note that at this time Neptune was not discovered and therefore does not appear on the latter. What makes this object so rare is its superb state of preservation.
