A beautiful decor imitating straw marquetry, a harmonious baluster shape and a soft bottle green color make this beautiful earthenware lamp by Jean Roger as much a source of warm light as a decorative element with a classic, elegant and colorful line.
Large hand-painted earthenware baluster lamp from the house of Jean Roger, signed on and under the foot.
The house of Jean Roger, Place des Vosges in Paris, has been a favorite address for ceramic lovers since the 1950s and has counted among its regular customers Christian Dior, Jackie Kennedy, Chanel and Jean Royère.
It was Jean Roger's son, Jean-Jacques, who at the end of the 1960s created a trompe l'oeil lacquer technique painted on earthenware.
He became a specialist in painted decoration on earthenware, perfecting it until he was able to reproduce the patterns and colours desired by his famous clients.
