Pair of Languedoc pump lamps in pewter with two-bulb body, stepped pedestal and tubular burner.
Clear hallmark of Georges JOVANETE, incompletely legible.
Height: 31.8 cm.
NÎMES, first half of the 19th century

It is exceptional to find this type of lamp complete with their internal mechanism, a wick holder is however missing on one of the two burners.
This master also worked in APT; he is cited as having died in 1853 by René Richard in: "Pewter potters of the Old Languedoc and Roussillon".
