"Kilim Cuval Malatya - Anatolia. Circa 1880. 90 X 62 Cm"
Wonderful Cuval from Malatya in Southeastern Anatolia. Cuval are emblematic objects of the daily life of the nomadic peoples of Anatolia. They were once used for the storage and transport of cereals. True works of art, their refinement and the dexterity of the work make them highly decorative objects... Woven and embroidered wool on wool. The plant shades are absolutely sublime. The depth is incredible due to saturated and extremely dense shades. This object has already survived a century and a half and the freshness of the shades is incredible. Circa 1880 Very very good condition !! Dim: 90 x 62 cm Laurent Beauty of Kilims
