Important pair of carved giltwood columns: the fluted shafts rest on painted wooden bases and are topped with Ionic capitals.The shaft of one of the columns was regilded in the 19th century, the other still has its original gilding. T
he back is hollow, these columns must have been leaning against a wall or included in a woodwork.
Good general condition, some wear and missing parts of the gilding, missing parts and traces of treated woodworms.
Period 18th century.
